In order to do this, I would have to have the financial ability to do so.  If I did not have the abilities to provide the capital to start my business, I would either have to ask my friends and family for help, or I would have to go to a bank and take out a loan. I also would need to have culinary skills and abilities. While the love I have for cooking is present, I also need formal culinary abilities. In order to accomplish this, I plan on attending culinary school when I complete my degree at NCSU. To open up a successful cafe, I need to efficiently market and promote the new store. One way to accomplish this, would be to put flyers in the local paper, or to put flyers around town. I would need to invest money and time to get word out about the new venture. I would need attract and keep customers, possibly with a loyalty program, family-friendly atmosphere, and helpful, friendly staff. Prior to starting this venture, I need to ensure that I have a reliable staff. I would need to start the hiring process and training process many weeks prior to the opening of my cafe. I want to ensure that I have a staff that is efficient, customer friendly, and hardworking. I would not want to hire someone who is not going to work hard to ensure that the customer will have a wonderful experience at my cafe. Finally, I would need to have an efficient and orderly way to keep up with my finances once the business is up and running. I would need an accountant or someone of the like to help maintain the books at the store. Without this aspect, the store could go down hill if too much money is spent on payroll or on inventory.

Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to cook. Furthermore, not everyone knows how to cook well. I’ve loved and enjoyed cooking and baking since I was three years old, standing on a chair, helping my grandmother stir cookie batter. It’s one thing I have always enjoyed and one thing that helps me to relax. The problem in the world I am passionate about solving is bringing passion and love back into cooking. In today’s society, so many people stand in lines at fast food restaurants and are constantly on the go and need an easy, fast, and convienient food fix. People have abandoned the kitchen for the drive-thru line and have abandoned dinner around the kitchen table. I want to provide people with food that is homemade, cooked with love and passion, and shared in an family-friendly environment. I want to share the love of food that I have with those who may have forgotten how much food connects all of us together.
